The drought busting trend started in Jan. made came to abrupt end as El Nino ended as
soon as it developed in late Dec. 2006. As a result, the avg. temp was below normal,
-2.2º and below normal rainfall with a 1.46" deficit for the month and -0.31" for the yr
after having a 1.2" surplus in Jan. With an except of 0.08" on the 21th, 2.22" fell
from the 1st-3rd. The rest of the month was bone dry. Due to the rainfall in Jan.
and the early rainfall in beginning of the month, the US Drought Monitor improved to
D0 or Abnormally Dry by 2/6 and continued through the end of the month.
